Nargis Dutt was the epitome of the perfect film actor. After all, who can forget her performance in Mother India which was nominated for the Academy Awards or Raat Aur Din for which she got the first ever National Award for the Best Actress? Her husband Sunil was an important actor in his own right, and her son Sanjay Dutt whom she unconditionally adored, one of the leading male stars at his peak. But Sanjay never achieved the kind of iconic stature his mother did.
