Heroines who married directors

Yet another famous instance of an actress falling in love with her director was that of Sardar Akhtar who fell in love with her director Mehboob Khan during the making of Aurat in 1940 and becoming his wife soon after. There was K Asif who married Sitara Devi, the Khathak Queen and later married Nigar Sultana when she worked with him in Mughal e Azam. As the years progressed Bollywood witnessed several love stories blossom between directors and their leading ladies.
