Also when the actor spent five months in prison in late 1982 after being caught in possession of illegal substances, he became depressed and allegedly started taking drugs.The actor then got into a bitter custody battle he was fighting with his late wife Richa Sharma's family for daughter Trishala. However, he lost the case.
