What PK’s success means

The audiences are not stupid PK deals with a subject like religion, and in it, Aamir Khan has shed his superstar image to play an alien. Aamir’s decision to let go of his larger-than-life real-life identity to play a character is not a new one. But the idea of PK had bred some cynics within the industry who believed that the audiences won’t be able to handle the film’s idea and treatment. Knowing that it is an Aamir film, they were talking in hushed whispers. Now those whispers have been silenced.
