Lok Sabha rejects Rajya Sabha amendments to Finance Bill Last Updated : 30 Mar 2017 02:46:57 PM IST (File photo)
The Lok Sabha on Thursday rejected the amendments proposed to the Finance Bill 2017 by the Rajya Sabha.The Bill, being a money bill, will now go to the President for approval before becoming law.
Replying to a short debate on the amendments in the Lok Sabha, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday said he cannot accept the amendments to the Finance Bill.
The Minister said: "I can't accept five amendments suggested by Rajya Sabha to the Finance bill."
Embarrassing the government, the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday suggested five amendments in the Finance Bill and returned it to the Lok Sabha.
The government had moved as many as 40 amendments in the Finance Bill, that were added to the bill at the last moment.IANS For Latest Updates Please-
