Priyanka makes first tweets, recalls words of Gandhi Last Updated : 13 Mar 2019 05:29:29 AM IST Priyanka Gandhi Vadra (file photo) Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who made her debut speech on Tuesday in Gandhinagar after becoming a party general secretary, also made her first tweets hours later.
The tweets related to her first visit to Mahatma Gandhi's Sabarmati Ashram.
"In the simple dignity of Sabarmati, the truth lives on," she said.
She also tweeted words of Mahatama Gandhi along with a picture of some of his belongings including his charkha (spinning wheel).
"'I object to violence because when it appears to do good, the good is only temporary; the evil it does is permanent' Mahatma Gandhi," she said in another tweet.
Priyanka, in her speech at the rally after a meeting of Congress Working Committee in Ahmedabad, had said she had come to Gujarat and to the Sabarmati Ashram for the first time and sought to touch an emotional chord with the audience as she narrated how the visit to the Ashram had reminded her of the freedom fighters.IANS New Delhi For Latest Updates Please-
