'Don't become worse than British': Arvind Kejriwal tears copies of new Farm Laws Last Updated : 17 Dec 2020 05:23:25 PM IST Kejriwal tears copies of new Farm Laws in Delhi Assembly Addressing a special session of Delhi Assembly, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the three farms laws were passed in the Rajya Sabha without voting and then he tore the copies of the contentious farm laws and urged the centre "not to become worse than Britishers"
"What was the hurry to get farm laws passed in the Parliament during a pandemic? It has happened for the first time that three laws were passed without voting in Rajya Sabha," said Kejriwal."I hereby tear up the three farm laws in this Assembly and appeal to the centre not to become worse than the Britishers. What was the hurry to get farm laws passed in parliament during the coronavirus pandemic?" Mr Kejriwal asked during a session called to discuss the farmers' protest."Every farmer has become Bhagat Singh... government is saying they are reaching out to farmers and trying to explain benefits of the farm bills... The UP Chief Minister told farmers they will benefit as their land won't be taken away. Is that a benefit?" the Chief Minister added.
