India adds 26,291 new Covid cases, highest single-day rise in almost 3 months Last Updated : 16 Mar 2021 10:34:25 AM IST In India, the total number of infections in the country increased to 1, 13, 85339 on Monday after 26,291 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in a day.
According to statistics, the country reported the highest number of new cases in a day after 85 days. Earlier, 26,624 new cases were reported in 24 hours on 20th December.According to the Union Health ministry, the death toll in the country increased to 1, 58725 after the death of 118 more patients from the virus. The number of patients under treatment has been increasing in the country for the last five days. A total of 2,19,262 people are currently undergoing treatment for corona virus infection, which is 1.93 percent of the total cases.According to statistics, 1, 10, 07352 people have been freed in the country so far. However, the national rate of recovery of patients has declined to 96.68 per cent. The mortality rate from Covid-19 is 1.39 per cent.Vaccination campaign boom: The number of vaccinators in India is now going to be around three crore.
