The Jharkhand Cabinet on Tuesday cleared nine proposals, including one to implement Medical Protection Act, said an official.
Under the act, a person involved in damaging government property, private hospitals or nursing homes will have to pay two times the cost of the damage and undergo imprisonment up to three years.
Jharkhand has become the 19th state in the country to have implemented the Medical Protection Act.
The Jharkhand unit of the Indian Medical Association has welcomed the decision.
