Hyderabad police has been awarded as the winner of 'Golden Peacock Innovative Product/Service Award' for 2017 for its mobile App "HYDCOP", an official statement said.
The award was presented at 'Golden Peacock awards ceremony' held in Dubai on Wednesday in the presence of business leaders during IOD India's '27th World Congress on Business excellence & innovation'.
United Arab Emirates' Culture and Knowledge Development Minister Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan presented the awards, said a statement from Hyderabad Police Commissionerate.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) V.V.Srinivasa Rao and Joint Commissioner of Police, Special Branch, Pramod Kumar received the award.
HYDCOP (Empowering front-line Police Officers), a mobile app developed by Hyderabad police was launched last year towards achieving global policing standards.
Meant for the internal use of police, it makes required information accessible instantaneously to the frontline police officers. The app helps in addressing individual needs of the police officers that can improve their morale and satisfaction and eventually lead to higher standards in their functioning, added the statement.
