West Bengal minister Laxmi Ratan Shukla resigns, Mamata says Last Updated : 05 Jan 2021 09:56:51 PM IST Former cricketer Laxmi Ratan Shukla“ Weeks after Suvendu Adhikari stepped down as a minister, West Bengal minister of state (MoS) for Sports and Youth Affairs and former cricketer Laxmi Ratan Shukla on Tuesday resigned from the Mamata Banerjee-led state cabinet. Shukla said that he wants to pursue a career in cricket once again.
I have no issue with him. I have given direction that his resignation be accepted. He wants to concentrate on sports and he has our best wishes. He is going to continue as a TMC MLA,” Mamata Banerjee told reporters here at an event.Shukla is the second minister to step down from the Mamata-led council of ministers.
